I love people and I love to photograph them, but I also love to take photos when there is no one around at all…

Night has always fascinated me. In darkness familiar forms change, spaces shift and shadows vibrate allowing the mind room to move beyond daytime perceptions. With the setting of the sun the world becomes new and things which seem mundane in the daylight hours are open to re-interpretation. As this transformation from the known to the unknown occurs it brings with it fear, but also possibility. These emotions are often strongly present when I think about aspects of my own life and so night, and all that it contains, can act as a metaphor for exploring different emotional situations that arise.
